Graz

Graz is, after Vienna, the second-largest Austrian city with a population of approximately 252,852. It is situated on the Mur river in the southeast of Austria in the region of Styria and quite close to the Slovenian and Hungarian border.
The "Old Town" of Graz is one of the best-preserved city centers in Central Europe. Therefore, it was added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage Sites. Furthermore, Graz was sole Cultural Capital of Europe for 2003. Graz has also a long tradition as a student city: its six universities have over 44,000 students.
